Welcome to the vampire angel hotel

The only thing she liked was beautiful costumes, and she was happy to have found a partner in Michael who liked the same things she did. Although Michael wasn’t afraid of snakes and the like, unlike Laura.
Laura looked at Michael, smiled gratefully at him, snuggled up a little closer to him, and closed her eyes. Michael heard Laura breathing slowly; she must have fallen asleep. Reassured, he got up and went to the bathroom. He took a quick shower and went back to bed, quickly wrapping a towel around himself after drying off. Laura was still sleeping very peacefully and quietly. So he lay down on the other side of the bed and quickly fell asleep too. Laura woke up first and looked over at Michael. He was still sleeping so peacefully, so she carefully slipped out of bed.

She looked out the window, the first rays of light in pink and blue appearing in the sky. It must still be very early in the morning, Laura thought. The storm was over, and it had stopped raining. She saw the faint outlines of tree branches outside the window and moved closer to get a better view. The moon was still shining brightly, and a light mist was visible. She noticed the leaves moving on a tree and looked a little closer. It looked as if something large was crouching there with big black wings. It looked like a very large bird. She wondered what it could be, but she couldn’t think of anything that could be so big. It must be a species she was not yet familiar with. She heard a noise coming from the hallway, a meow, and something fell down, crashing to the floor. It must be the cat Vincent had told her about, the owner of this remarkable building. She really liked older buildings like this; Michael and she had already seen many monasteries and castles from different eras. And this one was no less impressive. She hoped that the item that had just fallen to the floor was not a particularly valuable and expensive one. Her curiosity got the better of her; she had to see what had happened, so she slowly walked to the door, opened it quietly so as not to wake Michael, and looked out into the hallway.

The moonlight shone through the hallway window, and a small wall lamp was still on, bathing everything in a pleasant warm light. In front of the hallway window stood a small round table with rounded legs that looked like they came from the Baroque period. On the table she saw a few scattered flowers and a broken vase lying on the floor. Laura saw a black cat sitting on the table; it must be the cat ‘Gizmo’, she thought. The cat turned towards her and looked at her, looking a little grumpy, as if she had disturbed him. She had to smile briefly when she thought that the cat must feel caught out in his plan. Gizmo looked very pretty with his shiny fur, sitting on the table in the moonlight and looking over at her. Now she heard Gizmo meow again, but this time louder, more shrill and indignant. His green eyes flashed slightly; he was probably a little angry because he had been disturbed.

He jumped down from the table with a smooth movement and immediately turned back toward it, and Laura saw what Gizmo was yelling at again. The strange creature was hiding underneath and was staring at Laura again with its glowing eyes from the darkness. The tablecloth had hidden the creature somewhat, and now it peered out from there and looked at her again with its head tilted to one side. Laura was startled and was about to quickly close the door again when she saw Gizmo approaching the creature with his back arched and growling. The creature quickly turned around and disappeared in the next moment, as if it had never been there. Gizmo waited a moment and then turned back to Laura. With smooth, slow movements, Gizmo approached Laura and looked at her with interest, wagging his tail the whole time. It seemed as if he was interested in Laura.

So it wasn’t a dream about the creature in the bathroom, Laura thought to herself. Gizmo had just chased it away. Laura wondered what kind of animal it was. Maybe she just didn’t know it yet. It was a foreign country, who knows what kind of animals there were here.
Now Laura heard another sound, a small whimper, and when she looked into the corner where the whimpering sound was coming from, she saw a small black dog. First she saw its little snout, then its dark, loyal eyes, which looked at her kindly and expectantly. It slowly crawled out of the corner. That must be Driekus, Laura thought to herself. He looked very frightened; he must have smelled the animal. Since Laura loved dogs and cats more than anything, she went back out into the hallway and first petted Gizmo, who came up to her, and then the little dog dared to come out of his hiding place and approached her. Laura also stroked Driekus, who was still trembling all over. Gizmo was already wriggling around Laura’s legs while she stroked the little dog.

“Ah, there you are… Driekus and Gizmo, we’re always looking for you.” Laura heard Anja’s voice as she hurried up the stairs, still breathing heavily from climbing so quickly. “Please excuse Gizmo and Driekus’ behavior. They’re always thinking of new things to do. Sometimes we think they actually make plans for it…“ said Anja, who looked visibly sad when she saw the vase that had fallen on the floor. ”I’ll clean up the mess these two have made. I’m so sorry, the noise must have woken you up. Come on, Gizmo and Driekus,” Anja continued, picking up Driekus and turning around again, making sure Gizmo walked beside her. Gizmo now looked completely innocent, as if he didn’t know what Anja was talking about. Laura could still hear Anja calling out to them not to go back upstairs, to wait. Anja came back with a dustpan and brush and swept up the broken pieces of the vase and the flowers from the floor.

“Are there any other animals here besides Driekus and Gizmo?” Laura asked Anja, who had just picked everything up off the floor. “No, those are our only pets. Gizmo belongs to Sara and Driekus belongs to me,” Anja replied. “Why do you ask?” Anja continued. “I thought I saw another animal here in the house. But unfortunately, I can’t say exactly what it was. I’ve never seen that kind of animal before,” Laura replied. Anja looked at Laura questioningly. “It’s possible that a squirrel or a bird might have strayed into the house. The building is very large, it has several entrances, balconies, and lots of windows. We make sure to lock everything properly, but it’s not always possible to prevent a window or balcony door from being left open. There are many species of animals here, and because the forest borders the property, wild animals can also stray in. But most of the time, they don’t dare come in because of Driekus and Gizmo. Fortunately, the two of them keep a close watch, and Driekus quickly smells them with his nose,” Anja said to Laura.

“Yes, the two of them quickly chased away the animal that was here in the hallway,” Laura replied. “Well, then everything is fine,” Anja replied and smiled encouragingly at her. “The animal is surely far away now and will definitely not come back,” Anja replied.
“When you’re both up, you’re welcome to come downstairs to join us. We can have breakfast together. Jeremiel and we would be very happy about that. Sara is still busy preparing it, but we’ll be done soon,” said Anja, smiling at her kindly. “Thank you very much, we’d love to take you up on that offer,” said Laura gratefully.
Anja went downstairs and Laura went to her room. She looked at the bed after opening the door and saw Michael stretching. Of course, he hadn’t heard any of it. He was lucky to be able to sleep so deeply that not even an earthquake could wake him up.
