The Sunlight Fairy 01 (english) by LichtRahmen/ SR

1 The transformation
Quietly and gently, the first rays of sunlight glide over the many leaves, which sway softly in the breeze. Tiny, sparkling glimmers caress the surface of the tree leaves and slowly make their way down the tree trunks to the large meadow with its still-sleeping flowers. As if by magic, they lift their heads and slowly and carefully open their beautiful blossoms. They stretch upward toward the warm rays of the sun, which gently awaken them. The first rays warm the grass, which still lies beneath the cold blanket of hoarfrost. Small droplets form here and there on the blades of grass; they tremble in the gentle breeze that moves past them.
A soft rustling can be heard among the blades of grass; it pauses briefly again and again before slowly drawing nearer. It moves cautiously and quietly. Only gradually does the brown fur become visible, peeking out from between the blades of grass. Individual rays of sunlight caress it, and two large, long furry ears twitch. Slowly, the two ears point upward toward the warm, caressing rays of light. A brown furry head with two curious gray-brown eyes peeks out from beneath the grass. It moves its mouth contentedly, holding a spring flower it has just plucked.
There was another rustling in the grass, but it certainly wasn’t another rabbit. So the rabbit turned its head in fear and glanced in that direction just before leaping away in a huge bound. It was a rather large specimen of its kind and very strong, with powerful muscles.
Still, that unfamiliar sound made him uneasy; he saw nothing that could have made it. So he decided to run off quickly to get to safety.
Suddenly, he saw many white butterflies fluttering before him and stopped short. Before he could hop any further, he saw a white figure with bright wings and a flowing gown take shape before him out of points of light.
He kicked violently for a moment as the bright butterfly woman took him into her arms. His heart was pounding wildly, but already something warm settled on him; a warm hand stroked his fur and calmed him. As if by magic, he began to grow to twice his size; his form changed, his legs and back lengthened, and he realized he could stand on his hind legs. And suddenly he could also understand the being of light; she gave him instructions.
He learned that she was a sunlight fairy and that she had given him special abilities so that he could become an important messenger of spring. His task was to bring spring to the children in the form of colorful eggs. To help him, she conjured up a suitable wicker basket in which he could carry the colorful eggs to the children. A harbinger of spring who will be invisible to humans, just as he is every year. At the beginning of every spring, the Sunlight Fairy selects the strongest and largest rabbit for this special task. He was endowed with special abilities, such as the ability to understand other animals and communicate with them. And, of course, he will be able to live alongside other similar creatures. Before the Light Fairy disappeared back into her world, she wished him much joy as a harbinger of spring and said she looked forward to welcoming him into her world. The “Easter” Bunny set out to bring spring to the human children.
